After organizing cultural events in Benin, he felt the need to formalize his skills, leading him to study communications and digital humanities in Paris (Universit\u00e9 Paris Seine). <\/p>\n<p>After initial experience in a creative agency (Vice Media), where he trained in art direction and graphic design, K\u00e9fil Saka was asked to join ADS as Head of Education, before becoming its Executive Director. As soon as he arrived, he implemented a strategy aimed at <g id=\"gid_0\">adapting design teaching to the local African context<\/g>, notably by integrating African art history into the French curriculum. The school, born of a partnership between the Beninese government and the \u00c9cole de Design Nantes Atlantique, already boasts a major asset: it delivers the <strong>Dipl\u00f4me National des M\u00e9tiers d&#8217;Art et du Design (DNMADE<\/strong>), a French state diploma.  <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11303\" src=\"https:\/\/africafashiontour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/3-2.jpg\" alt=\"Africa Design School Back to school in 2024\" width=\"819\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"https:\/\/africafashiontour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/3-2.jpg 819w, https:\/\/africafashiontour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/3-2-480x600.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 819px, 100vw\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Structuring employability programs<\/h3>\n<p>One of the major challenges of the Africa Design School is to train profiles that are immediately employable. To achieve this, ADS has established a pedagogical model based on <g id=\"gid_0\">professionalization<\/g> and close collaboration with the business world. The school is developing Bachelor&#8217;s and Master&#8217;s programs focusing on several fields:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Digital Design:<\/strong> Developing applications, websites and user experience (UX\/UI).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Graphic Design:<\/strong> For brand identity and communication.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Object and Product Design:<\/strong> Including furniture and fashion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For K\u00e9fil Saka, design is a transversal discipline, essential for solving global problems. The ADS responds to this by working on concrete projects and in partnership with companies who submit real-life case studies to the students. This hands-on approach ensures that graduates find a wide range of outlets, whether in advertising agencies, banking (UX design), architecture, or structures needing creative people to innovate.  <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11307\" src=\"https:\/\/africafashiontour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/4-1.jpg\" alt=\"Africa Design School classroom\" width=\"819\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"https:\/\/africafashiontour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/4-1.jpg 819w, https:\/\/africafashiontour.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/4-1-480x600.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 819px, 100vw\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>International ambitions<\/h3>\n<p>Although ADS is based in Cotonou, its ambitions are resolutely pan-African and global. The school attracts students not only from Benin, but also from Senegal, C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire, Congo, Cameroon, Rwanda and Burundi, as well as students from the diaspora (notably from France), who choose ADS for its program adapted to the African context. <\/p>\n<p>International collaborations are at the heart of this strategy. In addition to the \u00c9cole de Design Nantes Atlantique, ADS is involved in major initiatives such as <g id=\"gid_0\">FLY (Fashion Led by Youth)<\/g> with S\u00e8m\u00e8 City and the Institut Fran\u00e7ais de la Mode (IFM) to incubate fashion brands. K\u00e9fil Saka also mentions the organization of major events to promote talent, such as student exhibitions (Solutions Innovantes) and the creation of the<strong>African International Design Award (AIDA<\/strong> ) in collaboration with Tereso Awards, aimed at rewarding the continent&#8217;s best designers.  <\/p>\n<p>Eventually, ADS plans to join the S\u00e8m\u00e8 City campus to benefit from an even richer training ecosystem and greater influence.
