The reference site for franchising in Africa www.afriquefranchise.com
Jean Samper is the founder of AC Franchise and Franchise Business Club. After selling these companies, he joined forces with Tarek Yazidi, a Tunisian businessman and Canada’s leading franchisee recruiter. Together, they created the AfriqueFranchise platform, designed to develop franchising in Africa. Their goal is ambitious: to offer African entrepreneurs opportunities to create their own businesses through local and international franchises.
A partnership for franchise success in Africa
Jean Samper and Tarek Yazidi have pooled their expertise and networks to develop brands across the African continent. The aim of this collaboration is to encourage business start-ups through franchising concepts adapted to local realities. In Côte d’Ivoire, for example, Mr Guei has launched PROXI Market, a concept of connected, solar-powered food distribution kiosks. Thanks to Afrique Franchise, this model is spreading rapidly.
Access to franchising for all
A PROXI Market franchise can be opened for as little as €12,000. Franchisees gain access to a central purchasing unit and benefit from support throughout the process. Jean Samper insists on the importance of developing solutions adapted to local specificities in order to reach the African middle class. Afrique Franchise provides presentation pages, with photos and videos, to inform potential franchisees and encourage them to apply.
A complete service for franchisors
The franchisor pays for access to the platform, which guarantees optimum visibility thanks to good Google referencing. Once the applications have been received, a team of specialized consultants assists with the deployment of the brands. What’s more, Afrique Franchise offers a training program to help entrepreneurs learn about the specificities of the African market.
Tools adapted to local realities
In countries such as Tunisia, Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire, specific versions of the site meet local needs. Webinars and training courses are also offered to help franchisors master development strategies. The lack of experts in certain fields, such as legal or logistical issues, is filled by local specialists.
Opportunities and success stories
Numerous local and international franchises are already enjoying great success in Africa. Among them, Plan B, a Tunisian fast-food chain, has made a name for itself with its fast, high-quality service. Pano, the European leader in advertising signage, has over 150 branches, including several in Africa (Morocco, Tunisia, Côte d’Ivoire). Finally, Re/Max Tunisie, the real estate giant, is a major player with a presence in 110 countries and over 9,000 agencies.
A continent of opportunities
With its 54 countries, Africa represents a huge market for franchises. Rather than starting from scratch, franchising is an ideal way for entrepreneurs to maximize their chances of success. Jean Samper and Tarek Yazidi are convinced that the development of franchising in Africa is a key solution for stimulating local entrepreneurship.
