Romzy expands its brand in West Africa
He made the strategic choice not to participate in a Fashion Week in 2023. Driven by the notion of return on investment, Romzy has consolidated his brand’s presence in 6 concept stores in West Africa. His emblematic pieces travel to all his boutiques, but he never fails to adapt his collections to suit the particularities of each African fashion market.
Romzy creates its own event and strengthens ties with its retail partners in the sub-region.
Renowned for his distinctive, avant-garde style, Romzy dresses artists and celebrities in search of sensational red-carpet outfits. Recently, he has broadened his offer by introducing the notion of “basic”, while retaining a touch of originality. His one-off creations in small runs appeal to a loyal clientele, while made-to-measure remains an option for those seeking exclusivity.
The designer also marked the year by working closely with architect Mamy Tall to create a unique piece presented at the 14th edition of the Biennale des Arts de Dakar. This collaboration symbolizes the union between accessible art and street art, a theme explored during the Biennale’s “Street” festival.
Winner of the Maison de Mode Méditteranée award, Romzy has developed partnerships with various concept stores in Africa, so much so that the brand is now present in Dakar, Conakry, Bamako, Banjul, Abidjan and Libreville.
Romzy offers a new artistic vision
2023 was a turning point for Romzy Studio, with the launch of a new vision. This was revealed through an exceptional event in Dakar, bringing together the passionate Romzy community. The new brand identity is accompanied by a new logo, accessories line and innovative collection. The presentation was orchestrated with grandeur, featuring a captivating video that goes beyond fashion, seeking to promote African culture as a heritage to be passed on to future generations.
Romzy, aware of the importance of the community that has grown up around his brand, organized a private event to share this new era of Romzy Studio. With a substantial budget, he planned a three-day event, wishing to renew this communication operation annually.
Romzy embodies the bold, innovative spirit driving the contemporary African fashion scene. By choosing to stray from the traditional paths of Fashion Weeks, he has asserted his presence and influence through his unique collections. His vision of fashion, combining chic and street language, resonates with a loyal and diverse community. Romzy Studio’s recent evolution demonstrates its commitment to innovation and the celebration of African cultural richness. The grand event in Dakar heralds an exciting new chapter for Romzy, a designer who continues to push boundaries and inspire the next generation of creative entrepreneurs in Africa and beyond.
